Young Children

The two acre sandy playground is a young child's paradise. There are a variety of things to do. Sliding, swinging, climbing and teeter totters will please young and old alike. The winds of Lesser Slave Lake make this playground ideal for family kite flying fun! We recommend you bring family bikes with you since kids of all ages love biking around our campground!

Older Children, Teens and Families

On the deck at the office is a blue Treasure Chest made for the kids. Inside it are a variety of balls, skipping ropes, hula hoops and other assorted delights for your kids to borrow when they choose. All we ask is for them to put the things back!

The beach volleyball area is fabulous for those pick-up games that kids love to play. The sandy playground provides a soft landing for the keenest of players. The basketball area is great for those who wish to shoot some hoops. We have a couple of croquet games for people to borrow as well.

If the camp kitchen is not booked for an event, on rainy days take the kids to the camp kichen for a game of pingpong or challenge others to a cribbage tournament We have a variety of board games and puzzles in the office for people to borrow as well.

Adults horseshoe

The horseshoe pits have seen their share of tournaments. For some friendly fun, challenge the people in the next campsite or cabin to a grand game of horseshoes! If you play Bocce please let the staff know. We have some seasonal lot people who are always looking for Bocce players!

Hiking Trails

For the walking or hiking enthusiast, there are trails along the beach, through the woods and out to the Little Grassy sand spit. Along the trails are old logs to sit on and rest while you drink in the quiet beauty. See if you can identify the songs of the birds who live in the boreal forest!

Swimming and Wading

The lake is ideal for wading in but is too shallow for older kids to do much swimming. Our young primary school grandchildren love to play in the water. Our teenage granchildren enjoy playing Frisbee and other water games in the shallow water. We have to be honest with you, as it depends on the year and Mother Nature. The Department of Environment will not permit us to groom our lake shore so that you can have a sandy beach. Please contact your MLA and the Minister of Sustainable Resources to express your wishes on this matter. We've tried and have been unsuccessful on our own.

Sandy Public Beach at Little Grassy

Hike or boat to Little Grassy! This public sandy beach is approximately one kilometer from our campsite. The secluded beach is ideal for sunbathing and enjoying the solitude of nature.
